Vybz Kartel Found Not Guilty Of Murder

The Jamaican reggae star has been found not guilty of the murder of a businessman Barrington ‘Bossy’ Burton, who was murdered in 2011.
The Supreme Court judge instructed the 12-man jury to return the verdicts after the prosecution informed the court that it had no further evidence against the accused. The jury also freed the star’s co-accused Lenburgh McDonald and Nigel Thompson.
The case against Vybz Kartel whose real name is Adidja Palmer, collapsed when after Justice Sykes turned down the request of the prosecution to admit tow witnesses’ statement to evidence. The judge was not convinced by the prosecution’s claim that it took all necessary steps to locate the witnesses.
Kartel would however remain in custody as he is scheduled to return to the courts in November to stand trial for the murder of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams.
