The new Famous Dex track could make him a star

To many fans in the UK Famous Dex isn’t very, well, famous. He will be best known for his Rich Forever collaboration tapes with Rich the Kid and Jay Critch as well as the A$AP Rocky featuring ‘Pick it up’, the video for which only arrived in late January.
This could be about to change though. Two weeks after its release ‘Japan’ has racked up over 7 million views on YouTube (for the lyric video) and over 12 million on Spotify. While the success of ‘Pick it up’ could – harshly – be attributed to Rocky’s feature, ‘Japan’ is all Dex, and has a beat that perfectly captures his sound.
Dex doesn’t make hype tunes, nor does he flow over songs smoothly, but producer J Gramm has served Dex with the beat to perfectly compliment his cadence. It’s swiftly gathering momentum and don’t be surprised if it propels Dex to the scene’s top table.
Dex releases his debut album Dex Meets Dexter on April 6.
