Terrace Martin is a man of many talents. He's a multi-talented musician, rapper, songwriter and producer. The gifted hip-hop artist has gone on to work with some major names in the game. From Snoop Dogg, The Game, Raphael Sadiq and even worked as a producer on Kendrick Lamar's Good Kid, M.A.A.D City album.
However, it is Martin's classic 3ChordFold LP that has been released for a little while now, that still marks him out as one of rap's most authentic rappers.
The album is a mix of r&b, rap, jazz and soul. It is a 'don’t worry, be happy and keep loving' kind of record, filled with downtempo beats that add to its relaxing and peaceful nature.
Martin invites a vast collection of rap heavyweights to join him on a couple of the tracks, such as Snoop Dogg, Wiz Kalifa, Musiq Soulchild, Kendrick Lamar & Ab-Soul on the laid-back and layered 'Ab-Soul's Intro'.
Standout tracks include the soulful 'Triangleship', the vocally stunning 'Over Time' and the sultry 'No Wrong No Right' featuring jazz pianist Robert Glasper.
Our personal favourite is ‘You’re the one’ ft. Ty Dolla $ign and ToneTrezure, it is a track reminiscent of 90's rnb and Tone Trezure’s voice will take you to church with his gospel-influenced sound.
