Desperados fuses old with the new in their latest CLUBHOUSE series!

Desperados celebrates the origins of  the UK clubbing institutions this summer with a series of parties across the UK.

The UK party scene has seen better days, with venue closures and constant licensing restrictions being enforced at more events across the UK, many of our legendary nights are finding it even harder to continue, with some even choosing to stop completely.  UK nightclubs had dropped from 3,144 in 2005 to 1,733 in 2015In London, of the 430 nightclubs open between 2007 and 2015, only 245 are still open, research by the London Assembly suggests.

This, unfortunately, means that the clubbing scene that we all hold dear to our hearts is in danger of becoming bogged down with red tape and could slowly fade away.

Kicking off last weekend down at one of the UK's major festivals, Parklife, Desperados brought their Clubhouse series to the party, revellers experienced legendary club nights from some of the key players who made their selected genres what it is today.

Next up on their revival tour, they hit Birmingham on the 28th of June bringing with them one of the city’s most prolific producers of recent times, Preditah.

Being one of the UK's most talented young producers, Preditah goes big to a home crowd at The Night Owl alongside the co-founder of iconic, former pirate radio station Rinse FM and one of the godfathers of grime Slimzee. A figure inextricably linked to the genre’s origins.

The night is set to carry a dual focus on the forces pushing the genre forwards as it rides its prominent second wave by bringing together voices of grime's past and present, Desperados will also underline the importance of urban music to the continued vibrancy of both UK music and beyond.

The rest of summer looks to be a busy affair for the Desperados gang, as they hit the following festivals with some of the veterans to educate and celebrate a new generation of clubbers and festivals goers.

Hopefully, we’ll be able to catch you down there donning your lost forgotten vintage Moschino's or your grandparent's dodgy flares.
