Struck a match to the underground, industry ignited!

RnB/Hip Hop | Saturday 3rd June 2017 | Phil

Album Of The Month comes from the unstoppable Wu Tang as their second LP 'Wu-Tang Forever' celebrates its 20th anniversary.

The Wu-Tang Clan arrived on the scene in 1993 with their debut LP ‘Enter The 36 Chambers’, an album that is credited by industry boffs years later as one of the most original and groundbreaking hip hop records ever created.

Very soon after, the individual members of the clan went on to release their own respective solo albums further cementing their seat at the hip hop dinner table, with many of the albums including Gza’s ‘Liquid Swords’, Ghostface’s ‘Ironman’, Method Man’s ‘Tical’ and Raekwon’s ‘Only Build 4 Cuban Linx’ becoming instant classics.

'Wu-Tang Forever', which was released in 1997 and went quadruple platinum, only served to confirm the Wu's status as innovators and as guardians of the art.
