Reggaeton: The Genre to shake your Summer!

Other | Saturday 11th March 2017 | Parmis

If you remember growing up with a particularly infectious Spanish-sounding song repeating Gasolina over and over again or heard echoes of the recent bangers Bailando and Danza Kuduro – then you’ve already been exposed to the rhythms of Reggaeton.

It's a genre that blends reggae against a hip hop beat, Reggaeton brings to life every song that ever made you want to dance.

With popular artists such as J Balvin featuring on songs with the likes of Justin Bieber and Pharell, it is officially time to incorporate it into your playlist in time for Summer.

Check out these top five songs that will get you hooked and clicking on the ‘recommended for you’ sidebar on Youtube, take a look at these blessed offerings from Reggaeton over recent years:

Travesuras Remix- Nicky Jam Ft De La Ghetto, J balvin, Zion y Arcangel

Featuring some of Latin America’s most prolific Reggaeton artists, this classic remix will have you dancing and singing along to lyrics that you already feel you understand.

Maluma - Cuatro Babys ft. Noriel, Bryant Myers, Juhn

A sexy song led by the silky soft vocals of the self-proclaimed ‘pretty boy, dirty boy’ of Reggaeton, Maluma. This song will have you second-guessing how you could ever have gushed over Justin Bieber, now knowing of the better alternative they had in Latin America.

Gente de Zona - La Gozadera ft. Marc Anthony

You might already know of ‘that Bailando song by Enrique Iglesias’ that dominated the airwaves last summer – but here is the dance-hit twin that accompanied it and was equally as big in Latin America.

Alexis y Fido Feat Wisin y Yandel - Energia Remix

A relentlessly upbeat banger that will have you work up a sweat and inject you with an adrenaline shot of ‘energia’ in the four minutes it plays out.

Daddy Yankee – Limbo

Rounding off with the King of Reggaeton himself who brought you Gasolina all them years ago, here is yet another popular tune of his from several years ago that transports you into a summer island of paradise.

If you haven’t been convinced by these anthems, then you will be missing out on a beautiful opportunity to bring life to your summer beach playlist.
