A Storm is Blowing: Timekeeper in Residence Installation @ UCL
Wednesday 12th June 2013 | Negar
A Storm is Blowing is a temporary installation exhibited at UCL’s Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology open to the public until August 2nd. Cathy Haynes is leading this creative project by exploring how time is modelled, mapped, measured and lived! Explorations of various objects give the viewer a different experience of time, from an ancient shadow clock to the modern Facebook’s timeline!
Often museums used linear time concepts, such as chronological timelines to organise their collections. However, this collection is a way of challenging how museums display their collections and allowing new paths for explorations!
The improvised 3D diagram strings together 35 different historical pictures and models of time.
So if you’re free today, make sure you check out this exhibition out!
