After success staring as the vocals on Rudimentals hit singles 'Feel the Love' and 'Not Giving In' can John Newman replicate his success as he goes solo?
Most evidence seems to be pointing to yes with new single 'Love Me Again' which is incredibly simple and yet seemingly quite perfect, managing to be catchy without being inherently annoying. With his debut album set to be released later this year things certainly look on the up for Newman with tracks such as 'Try' and 'Cheating' looking like success stories in the making.
His voice has a sort of Motown style with a unique sound that stands out from the crowd. Following the fame of the two Rudimental singles there is a danger that Newman may face the common struggle of artists trying to break through on their own after having success with a household name.Newman will have to prove to his critics that he is not just a great voice on another artist's track but that he can make his own success as an individual artist with a unique voice.
This challenge is exactly what 'Love Me Again' was made for. A beautiful track that overcomes that barrier by showing exactly what Newman's solo music sounds like. As the BBC has already used the single to advertise its festival Radio 1's Big Weekend it looks like the song is set to be a hit, in advertising terms at the very least.
In the coming years I expect John Newmans name to become well known across the country with his stunning vocals set to shoot him into stardom. He truly is one to look out for in the future.
