Benecio Del Toro Joins Guardians of the Galaxy

Continuing the recent trend of superhero films being overloaded with celebrities (I’m looking at you, X-Men: Days of Future Past), Benicio del Toro has been cast in a lead role in Guardians of the Galaxy.
While Del Toro’s role is currently unknown, he has signed a multi-picture deal, meaning his character is slated to appear in multiple movies. While this may simply mean random cameos (Mark Ruffalo in Iron Man 3 comes to mind), it may also be an integral part of the overall franchise. I mean, he sure looks the part of Thanos, no?
Guardians of the Galaxy comes out in August 2014, and is directed by James Gunn. Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and Glenn Close also star.
