Track Review: Black Milk - “Sunday’s Best/Monday’s Worst”

Black Milk is a hip hop producer and MC from Detroit, Michigan. His latest piece of work “Sunday’s Best/Monday’s Worst” is his first solo work in a few years. This EP feels like a deliberate cutback from Album of the Year’s largesse.
“Sunday’s Best/Monday’s Worst” repeats Album of the Year’s nihilistic theme, but dressed up with soul samples, gospel choirs and crisp drums. The first half of the EP gives accounts of Milk’s strict religious upbringing and his lack of interest in the church. The second half tells a story of falling victim to hard living.
