Trinidad James (Don't Be S.A.F.E) Mixtape review (Gold is back!)
Friday 31st May 2013 | Ian
Trinidad James has a major deal with Def Jam recordings, is CEO of his own record label Gold gang records and has an official remix of “All Gold Everything” with Ti, Young Jeezey, and 2 Chains. Trinidad James is a interesting character and pushes an interesting focus towards enterprise and style, fronting gold teeth and pushing style with his clothing line 'Gold Gang Goods.'
The music is hard and diverse and has some great production from Mississippi's Devon Gallapsy, a relatively unknown guy partly responsible for the idea of “All Gold Everything”. Devon has been working in production for years using fruity loops software to make beats on his laptop computer. Devon stated in an interview for dolobeats.com that he only recognized it was Trinidad James who used his beat when his brother played the track on his iPhone boasting it was the latest hit in the clubs.
I think that the mixtape (Don't Be S.A.F.E) is a great idea and “All Gold Everything” is a great track bringing Gold back in a big way! It also has that authentic southern Memphis sound mixed with Trinidad James’ charisma and is definitely worth checking out for future reference if you haven’t already been exposed on Youtube.
