Grumpy Cat being made into a film – everyone get your grumpy faces out now

Internet sensation turned film star? Apparently that’s what’s set for Grumpy Cat, which is pretty much one of the biggest memes on the internet. Broken Road Productions has announced that they will be producing a comedy with the foul-faced kitty as its lead star.
Named Tardar Sauce in real life, Grumpy Cat became known after a picture of her permanently grumpy facial expression was posted on Reddit, after which it went viral. Todd Garner of Broken Road states that “This started off as a picture of a cat, but rare is an image that evokes that much comedy. You read all of the memes and the comments, and one is funnier than the next. We think we can build a big family comedy around this character”. It has also been revealed that Grumpy will be able to speak in the film.
Sounds like the producers are going for a Garfield sort of film, which if you remember, featured an out-of-touch Bill Murray and wasn’t particularly good. Oh well, whatever satisfies the kids eh?
