The British Godfather of House and Techno – Mixmag.
"I don't name-check influences. I've always liked and played new music, that's what I was doing in '88, and what I do now." Eddie Richards.
Welcome to Neotropiq, a loud and colourful world of unclassifiable biodiversity. Friday 10th May sees the launch of a new London party from RvS honchos Asadinho and Paul Soul at the legendary Cargo club. Rebranded, relaunched and fresh off the heals of their releases by Cellophane, Shade and Asadinho’s Lana del Rey remixes with future remixes in the works by Ian Pooley, Alex Arnout, Sean Dimitrie, RvS is now ready to push into next gear for 2013.
Formerly Reverberations, the RvS story dates back to ’94 and since the boys have played hundreds of cities across five continents from the most intimate underground warehouse parties to headlining the main room of renowned clubs as well as festivals of up to 20,000 people. Their legendary parties have featured in London studio spaces, boats, clubs and pubs.. if you have not been lucky enough to be part of any yet, now is your opportunity to share and experience, come see what all the fuss is about at Neotropiq.
Neotropiq will be hosting some of House music’s finest names, kicking off with none other than the legendary ‘Eddie Richards’. The British Godfather of House and Techno was one of the first DJs to champion house back in the mid 80s. He was there at the birth and is still very much here to stay, current, relevant and active, Richards has featured in many dance music and culture related books, documentaries and films.
Eddie Richards’ career spans well over 20 years in the business, his journey has left an imprint on London's Camden Palace, Clink St, Heaven, The Hacienda, Sunrise, Energy, Helter Skelter, Ministry of Sound, Wiggle and Fabric to name a few. He is one of the UK's original mix DJs and his collaborations, remix and productions include club classics; Acidman reaching Top 20, followed by other chart topping remixes of Ralphi Rosario, Orbital and The Shamen, plus a stand out, seductive and dark soundtrack for Fabric series named Fabric 16. Richards is widely regarded as the pioneer of tech house, he continues to DJ the world over, resides at Fabric and is currently working on new material for various labels.
We are very excited to announce that Eddie Richards will be headlining Neotropiq on Friday 10th May. Also featuring extra sound systems and RvS projection whizkid, Sean Meacher. Master of his craft for 12 years, will be syncing and integrating Neotropical flora and fauna into the mix.
