Le Relais de Venise L’Entrecôte brings you the finest steak in town. This chain of restaurants is a must for steak lovers; so authentic hat when you go into the restaurant there’s only one question they ask you: "rare, medium or well done?"
Situated on Marylebone Lane off Marylebone High Street, this quaint French restaurant brings you the image of Paris at its finest. Walking into the restaurant you will notice the classic French brassiere interior with banquette seating, as well as timeless paintings of Venetian market scenes, and wooden tables covered with colourful cloths, topped with white paper, mirrored walls and dim lighting. Now, "what makes this steak so special", you say? The secret is in the sauce. It remains a closely guarded family secret of Madame Godillot, the daughter of Monsieur de Saurs, the founder of Le Relais de Venise L’Entrecôte in Paris. Many have tried to replicate the delicious sauce, but without success.
For £21 you can have it all; for starters a green salad with mustard vinaigrette topped with walnuts, followed by your steak which - get this - is brought to you in two stages, with one half held back to keep warm, accompanied with more prepared thinly sliced French fries.
A definite requirement for those of you who can't resist a good steak, I'd recommend a visit to this hidden gem!
