New Video for Bon Iver Single

Wednesday 17th October 2012 | Jacob

The indie-folk troubadour is back, with a new ethereal video for ‘Beth/Rest’.

Featuring a couple wandering an enchanted wood wreathed in mist and glowing light the clip is a sumptuous visual treat, akin to bathing ones eyeballs in room-temperature Valium. Channelling a sultry Roxy Music inspired vibe, the song from the band’s second album Bon Iver, Bon Iver, is a perfect match to the video’s romantic yet otherworldly aesthetic.

It was directed by frontman Justin Vernon and collaborator Dan Huiting, who aside from directing previous Bon Iver videos is currently working on a feature length documentary about the band. Speaking in a recent press release Vernon described the content of the video "It's kind of about two people who are truly meant for each other and what happens to their essence. How they connect is some other thing that we don't know how to really talk about." Mysterious stuff, but with focus this soft, I'm sure we'll have a relaxing time trying to figure it out.

The single for Beth/Rest is scheduled for European release on November 12th.
