'Skyfall' Bond theme by Adele: listen here

Friday 5th October 2012 | Raquel

Adele unveilled at midnight on her website her theme song to the brand new James Bond movie and is already at the top of the iTunes chart.

The 23rd Bond movie theme named 'Skyfall' was out at 0:07 (BST) on 5th October, date that also celebrates the 50th anniversary of the first Bond movie. The track, co-written and produced by Paul Epworth who had worked with Adele in the past, was recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London and features a 77-piece orchestra.

Adele stated that she was "a little hesitant at first to be involved with the theme song for Skyfall" but she also added that she loved the script "and Paul had some great ideas for the track and it ended up being a bit of a no brainer to do it in the end." She is also thrilled with the ideia of being a kind of a Bond girl. "I'll be back-combing my hair when I'm 60, telling people I was a Bond girl back in the day, I'm sure!"

Epworth talked to BBC 6 Music "The songs seem to fall into groups in terms of subject matter. Some of them have a romanticism to them, and some of them are very much about the narrative of the film."
