Keep it Casual Thursdays

RnB/Hip Hop | Thursday 4th October 2012 | Carla

You arrive to the club on Saturday night. Ladies, make-up, hairstyle and outfit have taken several hours to perfect, your feet are hurting in the 6inch heels that are slowly killing your toes one by one... Fellas, you turn up wearing your latest kicks but the doorman insists your footwear is ‘inappropriate’, meanwhile Mr. Dapper behind you in the queue gets in no problem, pointy shiny leather shoes were never your thing.

Sick of the typical Friday and Saturday nights out London has to offer? I’ve stumbled across the best night out in Central London, minus the bits we don’t like; come as you are and you’re guaranteed a great night...Welcome to Thursday nights at The Social, where they prove Thursday is the new night to go out. Besides, why not start your weekend early?

Thursday nights is The Social's very own Karaoke night. I know what you’re thinking; an overpriced London pub with a beer bellied man belting Amarillo. But that is not the case, as The Social has re-injected the ancient tradition with a twist... This is Hip Hop Karaoke. Hidden just a few minutes away from Oxford Street in the ideal location,  between 7pm and 1am every Thursday, people take to the mic singing or rapping their favourite tunes, from Dead Prez to Nicki Minaj. The night is hosted by the fantastic Bobby Champagne, who has taken Hip Hop Karaoke to Ibiza alongside Radio 1. Whether you’re good or bad, that’s all part of the fun and all are welcome - no age, dress code or any other type of restrictions. With a small door fee, reasonably priced drinks and a diverse but amazing vibe, you’d be silly to miss out on a night out like this.
