On the 30th September, the rapper from Detroit released probably his best album so far.
Old, by Danny Brown, is created differently for the fans. Recorded like a vinyl, Old contains 2 sides :
Side A : Underground Hip Hop / Side B : Trap music
Danny Brown made this album to smash it on party, as well as to express a dark side - the result is an hysteric album. Compared with his previous album XXX, Old is attractive and has a higher level of dope beats and crazy flow, featuring Asap Rocky, Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, Freddie Gibbs... Indeed, this is the kind of album which sounds better after several listenings.
Side A represents the Danny Brown he was when he started to rap in his hood with his people. We can feel his love for the Underground hip hop, through some beats which are J-Dilla-esque, and with "The return", influenced by Outkast.
Side B is a pack of heavy tunes, killed one by one with a monster flow. A-Trak, the DJ Producer and Director of Fool's Gold gave a present to Danny in "Smokin & Drinkin".
Danny Brown must be ready for an amazing future... Old is an album that we can appreciate more and more. After 32 years, the third album of Danny Brown sounds more intense, even more mature. The fans will naturally learn the lyrics, because of the catchy styles of the songs ! While Danny Brown keep doing a promotion tour in the United States, we will enjoy Old until he comes back to London to show all the skills he's acquired!
