Event Preview: Emancipator @ XOYO on 13th October
Renowned for its heavy nights out, XOYO might not be the first place (in fact it’s probably right at the bottom) on your list of things to do on a chilled Sunday evening, the night before the dreaded Monday morning alarm. However, on Sunday 13th October, make sure that this is an exception as Bird On The Wire are presenting the extremely talented American trip-hop producer Emancipator.
Having self-released his debut album Soon It Will Be Cold Enough in 2006, at the age of 19, the tracks from that album have since proved to be timeless, perhaps fitting in to the music industry much better in 2013 than they ever did back in 2006. Emancipator’s broad range of instrumentation, agile beats, layered melodies and intoxicating samples are always majorly chilled-out and dreamy, so for a Sunday night out, this won’t be a huge wild affair. Emancipator also performs on stage with violinist Ilya Goldberg, so expect some classical vibes too. Tickets are £11.50 so buy one early to avoid being disappointed.
