Fresh From Scandinavia: Lake Jons
Lake Jons, the trio from Helsinki who started in the singer, Jooel Jons’ grandmother’s basement and have since been signed to the American record-label AntiFragile in 2017, are one of Finland’s new music promises to the world.
They’ve teased the indie scene with their two EP’s, Explore and Explode that both came out in 2016 and now the wait is over: Lake Jons, the self-titled debut album is finally out. The band combines the aesthetics of the barren beauty of a Finnish landscape with a sound world that they themselves describe as “garage lake”, a perfect mash of organic and electric that leaves you believing in a bright indie future.
