The 100 year old we should aspire to be like!
Harold Hager is 100 years old but spends 20 hours a week volunteering for Steuben County's Habitat for Humanity in New York
He has been with this charity for 2 years, but this stint follows a lifetime of charitable work.
While serving in the Navy in WWII, he delivered supplies to his community during floods.
When his wife had to move into a home he would visit every single day and stay from 11 am until 8 pm. Harold displayed the kind of selfless love which we should all give to others.
After his wife sadly passed away he threw himself into charity work, including various projects for Habitat for Humanity, like building houses and working in the second-hand shop.
Habitat for Humanity empower people in the world’s poorest communities to overcome the chronic lack of decent, affordable housing. They help homeowners to physically build houses, and work behind the scenes too, in advocating for policy change to protect owners rights, and helping people finance their homes.
