From parades to club nights, Pride 2017 was the biggest one yet!

Monday 10th July 2017 | Grace

Although often criticised as becoming a commercialised and capitalised event, London Pride week celebrates everyone of all sexualities and even if this means being sponsored by supermarket giants and cooperate banks, this can surely only be a good thing!

Pride 2017 boasted to be the biggest one ever this year and with events happening all over, love shone throughout the capital this previous week.

Some highlights of the week included Pride in the Park, Parliament displaying rainbow coloured lights and of course, the famous Pride Parade that had over 300 groups of people marching to show their love, support and pride.

There are still several events continuing around the world to keep the message going. The Queer British Art 1861-1967 Exhibition is on at the Tate until 7th October 2017 and will be displaying famous LGBTQ art from many great artists throughout the years.

As well as that, Angels in America is a play about New Yorkers dealing with the AIDS crisis in the 1980s and will be on at the National Theatre until the 19th of August 2017.
