Maiah Manser shares Dracula inspired new single 'Second Skin'

Other | Tuesday 11th October 2016 | Lilly

Seattle resident pop singer Maiah Manser has recently shared her new single 'Second Skin', which is scheduled for release on the 21 October via Freakout Records. Second Skin was produced by Frank Ocean’s collaborator, Buddy Ross and mastered by Tom Coyne (Adele, Beyonce, The Weeknd, Justin Bieber) with string arrangements by Phillip Peterson (Cashmere Cat, Florence and The Machine, Santigold).

With a sound reminiscent of Florence & The Machine and BANKS, Maiah's brooding noir-pop involves seductive vocals and enveloping production. Manser explains the story behind the new track, "Taking many inspirations from the novel Dracula, I explored the meaning of what it is to have a second skin in this yearning love song. Whether this defines emotional armour or making one stronger, a second skin is a part of every human process".
