Dance music calls on Sadiq Kahn
After his promise to protect London's nightlife, Sadiq Kahn has received his first test, Fabric.
Once again the Farringdon club is under an immense amount pressure after two 18 year olds have died in the venue during the past 9 weeks. The Met requested that Fabric's license be suspending and owners have agreed to not appeal the decision.
Islington Council are to review the venue's license within 28 days, therefore will remain close for this time. Being one of the only super clubs left in London, the support that has come through for the club has been huge.
Today more support had surged after DJs began calling in the new mayor to stand up for the club. The calls come as one of Sadiq's promises was to protect London's nightlife - now people are waiting to see if he will follow through with his promise.
This summers events follows the problems at the end of 2015, where the council tried implementing ID scanning and sniffer dogs at Fabric.
Hoping that @SadiqKhan listens to pleas from DJs around the world to help @fabriclondon reopen. London needs Fabric.
