Patch switches it up on 'Space Between The Heartbeats'

RnB/Hip Hop | Thursday 7th April 2016 | Christina

North London wordsmith Patch drops his second EP Space Between The Heartbeats.

The new record signals a departure in sound from Patch’s debut offering The Pirate Ep Vol 1. Now in a more reflective mood, he fuses laidback beats with introspective wordplay and more personal subject matters, and the result is a more chilled collection of tracks. As he said, "Space Between The Heartbeats is a collection of songs that reflect the thoughts, feelings and experiences that aren't so easily seen on the surface. Imagine yourself watching a heart monitor as the green line jumps up and down as an indication of a heartbeat. These songs are the expression of the small murmurs in between.”

Patch's approach to music can be explained by his concept of  ‘Drunken Philosophy/Embrace Your Contradictions', a movement which he created "as a way of encouraging myself and others to express all elements of who they are, even the bits that don't make sense to the rest of the world...Like many of us I like to party but I’m also very passionate about philosophy and spirituality, so the phrase Drunken Philosophy sums that up."
