As Mature As You Can't Get

Other | Monday 24th June 2013 | Abby

The boys are back with a new ‘mature’ angle! The Lonely Island has released the group’s latest album which has claimed to have taken a more mature stance of parody music.

Only on 7th June, Akiva Schaffer, Andy Samberg, and Jorma Taccone together are better known as The Lonely Island released the latest crazy collection of lampoon tracks in the album known to the world as The Wack Album. The album was later released in the UK on 10th June. After the success of The Lonely Island’s first two debut albums, Incredibad (2010) and Turtleneck & Chain (2011) which are full of hilarious tracks which make fun of the excesses of pop and hip-hop, and their own personal social awkwardness, frequently featuring the themes of premature ejaculation, drugs, and creepiness, this comedic group decided to give a new angle to their latest album. These boys, or should I say men considering they are well into their 30s... These men have released The Wack Album, a title they decided on after finishing the project that signifies that they sing about some pretty ‘wack’ topics, but this time with a little more maturity. They sing about marriage and fatherhood, and Jorma Taccone stated that:

“Well, we’re grown up. There’s more joke about the inevitability of death and less songs about dick malfunction.”

But it really is maturity to an extent! Their jokes are more about mature topics, appealing to an older generation while still keeping the jokes going to keep their younger fans rolling on the ground laughing.

With collaborators such as Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga, T-Pain, Adam Levine, and even Michael Bolton, well it is even bigger and better than the last album and it is even more hilarious! Keep it coming boys, because you just keep getting bigger, better, and funnier!
