‘Carry On’ is an instantly likeable groove, driven by a muted, disco-flavoured guitar riff and laid-back 4/4 beat. Schra’s silky vocal is expertly delivered with a knowing drawl, and the singalong chorus is immediately stuck on repeat in your head. Mason’s remix perfectly captures the far out charm of the original, bringing the unorthodox guitar riffs to the fore, on top of bouncing beats and a funked up bassline. This remix has got an uplifting quality to it which could well see it make the jump to radio, as well as finding its way into DJ setlists everywhere this summer.
Alongside a useful instrumental version, Chopstick & JohnJon also step up to deliver a stylish vocal mix that showcases their unique brand of deeper house and techno for the cooler dancefloors. New Portuguese / Dutch producer JustOne shows why he’s getting support from the likes of Afrojack and Nicky Romero, as he toughens it up with a euphoric mix, full of big drops and dancefloor moments. Up and coming talent, Feiertag takes it the other way, with a down-tempo, bass-heavy mix, that also shows off his considerable skills as a drummer / percussionist.
‘Carry On’ has all the hallmarks of a big summer tune and with the massive Mason remix ready to land directly on dancefloors everywhere, should mark the start of even bigger things for Janne Schra.
