Why We Love The Bussey Building
If you’re getting tired of the same old nights out why not try heading south of the river? With places like Peckham’s Bussey Building making becoming more and more popular South East London is getting more exposure. So get yourself on the Overground and check it out.
If you’re not a student at Goldsmiths College or the Camberwell College of art you might not know about the Bussey Building yet, but with its increasing popularity chances are you will do soon. Located in Peckham a stone’s throw away from New Cross you can guarantee that this place will always be heaving, and not without reason. With a packed schedule featuring a variety of genres from deep house to cheesy classic pop (check out The Mighty Cheeseball on July 19th) one of the biggest draws is The South London Soul Train.
Once a month, this night is hosted by JAZZHEADCHRONIC always accompanied by guest DJs. Their mission, as the website puts it, is to ‘Funk you up’, the next one is July 6th. If these nights don’t sound like your thing then have a look at the absolute tons of other stuff this place offers, like film, physical theatre and dance. With such a variety of music and performance every weekend you’d be stupid not to give it a go, just try not to get anyone talking about what degree they’re doing.
