Skream's Departure From Dubstep
Thursday 30th May 2013 | Franco
We were all very shocked when Skream declared that his involvement with dubstep was to be no more, we were even more shocked when he told The Sun he think's dubstep's "dead".
Skream DJ'ed his last set of dubstep at the RedBull Music Acedemy...
"It’s the last dubstep show I’ll play until further notice. Dubstep is just a name now. It doesn’t have a meaning any more and the movement is over. It’s like the end of a relationship but on a high."
I guess what suprised us the most is that one of the main men who started the dubstep genre and movement is now the one to say its over.
"I’ve done dubstep since I was 14 but there’s no way I’m going to be dictated to. I stopped because I’m not inspired by it any more."
Moving on Skream has decided to explore the avenues of Funk and Disco, partly because of 'Daft Punk'. It makes you wonder what will happen to 'Magnetic Man' - what sort of music are they going to produce in the future? Only time will tell with their forthcoming album.
