James Blake : Overgrown

After the huge success of his self-titled debut album, James Blake is back on the scene with his much awaited second album Overgrown.
The 24 year old electronic music producer and singer-songwriter from London has gone from strength to strength since his first release, pulling in fans such as Kanye West, Jay Z and Stevie Wonder to name a few, and admitted to Zane Lowe that the first track 'Overgrown' was written on a plane after meeting the inspirational Joni Mitchell. “It was just a feeling that I got from meeting her, just being timelessness to somebody like that, and it puts you in a certain headspace. You look around you and the world is a lot faster moving than it seemed when you were talking to that person.
“By doing everything yourself. By doing the engineering, the mixing, the producing, the song writing, the singing, the performing, and all that kind of stuff, you have to leave some things at the door. One of them is your sense of perfectionism in some way because you just have to do it all. Some imperfections arise because you have to do everything. You have to be jack of all trades.”
With the forthcoming album not up for release until April 8th, Blake has debuted a clip for the track ‘Voyeur’ to give fans a sneak peak of what they can expect on the album.
The singer is also embarking on a mini UK tour later this month, kicking off with the sold out show in London’s Heaven on April 9th.
