Killmatic is out! Demigodz 2013

RnB/Hip Hop | Friday 8th March 2013 | Ronnie

Killmatic is out! One of the more anticipated underground hip hop albums coming out this month, it was released on the fifth of March by The Demigodz. Demigodz is a hip hop supergroup headed by big underground names, Celph Titled and Apathy, with a large array of other talented artists including Chum The Skrilla Guerrilla, Chad Bromley, Emilio Lopez, George Andrinopoulos, Motive, One Two, Open Mic, Seamus Ryan, Spin 4th, and Styles of Beyond.

Demigodz's first album The Godz Must Be Crazier was released five years earlier in 2007 by Demigodz Entertainment. If you are wondering what kind of sounds to expect from this album, think along the lines of Army of the Pharaohs and Jedi Mind Tricks. Killmatic also features popular artists like Planetary and Termanology, allowing Killmatic to feature a variety of awesome tracks adding even more flavor to the overall creative album.

The album contains an intro track and 15 songs summing up to roughly an hour's worth of aural gold costing about £13 in cd form on Amazon.co.uk. The album begins with a 47 second intro 'Giants On Earth' which opens up to Demigodz first track, 'Demigodz Is Back.'

'Demigodz Is Back' charges straight into the fray, blasting out at everyone with electrifying energy. It introduces an exciting new instrumental similar to Rocky's theme and features Apathy, Ryu, and Celph Titled spitting deadly verses apparently effortlessly.

Other notable songs in the album are 'Dumb High' and 'Worst Nightmare', both containing banging instrumentals. The beauty of tracks like these are that the flow is ridiculous, letting the lines come out naturally and inspirationalyl. These alone plus the overall well rounded album makes Killmatic certainly worth a look.

With Killmatic, Demigodz lets everyone know that they aren't afraid to battle anybody. They make thoughtful references throughout the album to other artists, celebrities, and front page people, not caring who might take offense. This fearlessness adds even further to the belligerent overall aura of this album. With each song containing different combinations of the supergroup, Killmatic offers something to everyone, spreading out the variety and adding new favorite artists to your hip hop lists.

Killmatic essentially adds 15 tunes to your workout playlist or whenever you need the "I don't give a fuck" mentality. This is what makes Killmatic one of the better underground albums. Demigodz raps about what they want to rap about; they just lay it on the table and don't care what you think about it.

Killmatic experiments with a huge variety of artists and daring instrumentals and maintains their original underground bravado making a flavorful tracklist that should definitely be shared. Overall, The album is very well rounded and went beyond expectations certainly making this album worth the 5 years of wait.
