Tanqueray and Piff: An introduction to Piff Gang

Piff Gang are a 10 man strong rap collective hailing from London, consisting of members Don Silk, Skout, Super Dertie, Skits, Phaze One, Prince Bam, J Rells, Crankz, Budgie and Motive.
They have released four mixtapes so far: Piff Breaks & 808’s, Mary Piffmas, Plantlife and Greenhouse, all of which are available for free on their website www.piffgang.com.
They are the UK’s answer to American “cloud-rap” acts such as Main Attraktionz, A$AP Rocky and Wiz Khalifa. As you can probably tell from their name, the gang love their weed, and this is the main subject of their raps, along with money and women of course.
They have a few in house producers (Budgie & Crankz), an in house DJ (Motive, who you can catch most Fridays at Bump @ Plan B, Brixton) and the rest help out with the rapping and management side of things.
They are fresh off their first headline show at Birthday’s in Dalston and they shut the place down! I am sure they will be headlining a lot more shows in 2013.
With features in NME and the Guardian they are an act who are definitely on the rise and I have no doubt that in 2013 the whole country will be singing a long to their tracks with some blue slims and bag of piff at hand.
