Indie four-piece take home Barclaycard Mercury Prize
Four Cambridge boys who met at Uni in Leeds have snuck under the fame radar for 5 years, grafting and honing their skills, creating atmospheric, delicate, arresting and catchy indie pop that’s garnered comparisons to Radiohead. The result of this is sold out shows in Europe and the US as well as an incredible Mercury award-winning album.
The unapologetically middle class quartet went into the awards as odds-on favourites and may soon find it harder to keep out of the spotlight after scooping one of music’s most respected prizes. If the standard of their output continues at this level, we could well be seeing a lot more of them in the future.
Well-done chaps!
