Borgore releases new EP 'Decisions' today

Thursday 18th October 2012 | Steph

Under his own record Buygore, Israeli dubstep artist Borgore has released yet another EP rightly titled "Decisions" into the stratosphere.

It consists of 4 tracks, all the same song remixed by different DJ's, including borgore himself. (It also features Miley Cyrus... if that floats your boat.)

He seems to be moving further and further away from the grimey, basic style that gave him the reputation 'Borgore ruined dubstep' and incorporating more of the readily pleasable, more rhythmic sounds adapted by artists such as skrillex or flux pavillion.

This kind of track, followed by the poorly recieved release of 'Molly' earlier this year makes anyone want to scream "Sell out!" in Borgores direction and move onto something primal like 16bit or KOANsounds.

I've met Asaf a couple of times in the past, and he has always been incredibly friendly and accomodatting of strangers and fans alike (even when we do sneak into the VIP area of a certain east end club...)

As a huge fan of Borgores early work such as 'Love' 'Gloryhole' and 'Ice Cream', I have grown to love his explicit content, notes that make you cringe and his derogitory approach to women (as a woman!). Like any original dubstep fan I panicked a little when I heard he had started more rhythmic beats in his work but when he dropped 'I don't wanna die' in his mix for Radio 1xtra I was incredibly impressed with what he had managed to achieve. He had made it more commerical with the lyrics and backbeat but hadn't lost his own flithy edge that makes his music so unique.

Unfortunately though, with fame comes sacrifice, and juggling his own music career with running a record label and promoting new artists I feel as if this new release has pandered to those fans that bring in the most money - rather than those like myself who love him for his rebellious nature.

I still like this EP, especially the remix by Dead Audio, it's well worth heading to the website (www.buygore.com) and checking out not only Borgores stuff, but the artists he is endorsing in with his record label; check out the links below for his new release and my personal favourite!
