Squarepusher to play Hackney Empire

Wednesday 17th October 2012 | Jacob

The legendary electronic producer is back with a live show on 20th October. Centered on his most recent album Ufabulum, it’s going to be big.

It’s been a good year for Squarepusher, with his fifteenth album coming out in May to widespread critical acclaim. It was a break away from his previous work, containing absolutely no live instrumentation and comprised exclusively of digital programming. It’s a stripped down listen, with a very ‘back-to-basics’ feel. This was certainly the intended effect with the man himself, Tom Jenkinson stating "I've started thinking about pure electronic music again. Something very melodic, very aggressive".

Expect the live show to be a pulsing, forceful beast. Backed by a wall of LEDs and wearing a helmet that functions as a screen Squarepusher is ready to both blind, and deafen his audience in pursuit of the perfect spectacle. And just in case one dose isn’t enough, Soundcrash are also presenting the official after party at Hackney Attic. Can you handle it?

 Tickets and deets available here.
