Walk the Moon touring the UK next February!
Tuesday 9th October 2012 | Laura
The Ohio’s indie rock band released yesterday their first self-titled album.
Tagged as "poppy, art-rock quartet" and admired for their "swirly pop beats, infectious guitar riffs, and loud, sing-a-long choruses", Walk the Moon, who got their name from The Police’s album, will be touring the UK on February 2013, visiting Manchester, Glasgow, Leeds, Bristol, Birmingham and London. The band, known for painting their faces for live performances, is formed by Nicholas Petricca (vocals/synths), Kevin Ray (bass), Eli Maiman (guitar) and Sean Waugaman (drums), whom supported bands such as Panic At the Disco, Weezer and Grouplove, and are currently supporting Fun on their UK and European tour.
Nicholas Petricca started the band in 2008, and after several member changes, they became Walk the Moon in 2010. Then they independently released their debut album, i want! i want!, receiving airplay on important radio stations. Their new self- titled album is produced by Ben H. Allen (Gnarls Barkley, Animal Collective) and features both 'Tightrope' and previous single 'Anna Sun', as well as newly recorded versions of fan favourites from i want! i want!. The album also includes new tracks written specifically for it, as they will shine live.
