From Military Wives to Award Winning Artist

The military wives group famously founded and conducted by Gareth Malone, won the single of the year award yesterday at the classic brit awards, this award is for their number one single ‘wherever you are’ that became a number one hit at Christmas. They celebrated with singing their diamond jubilee single ‘sing’ accompanied by take that star Gary Barlow and Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, the songs composer’s, on grand pianos. Gareth Malone described the award as ‘the candle on a very large cake’
Another award receiver was John Williams who received a lifetime achievement award for his outstanding dedication to film music, his famous scores including Jaws, star wars and last year’s nominated War Horse.
Other award winners were Violinist Nicola Benedetti, who performed at the last night of the proms received the award for top female artists, and Vasily Petrenko, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic orchestra conductor, who won the best male award.
The Awards will be broadcast on ITV at 10:20pm, 7th Wednesday October
