Electric Brixton brings the best of psychedelic rock

Indie | Friday 28th September 2012 | Laura

Death In Vegas, Toy and Von Haze, will be performing next Saturday at the London based club

Electric Brixton brings us the possibility to enjoy the vibes of three amazing bands, the veteran Death in Vegas and the emerging Toy and Von Haze, which are more than merely supporting bands.

Quick view of the bands:

Richard Fearless aka Death in Vegas, has been performing in the UK dance scene since 1994 with a mix of electro, dub, rock, psychedelia, soul and solid-gone experimentation. He created a unique sound from other space that made him highlight from the rest of bands. Death in Vegas released their 5th work Trans- Love Energies last year, after a 7 year silence- and splitting up with Tim Holmes-. But they come back to the scenarios with this mix of techno-pop and obscure electric.

TOY, who recently released their self-titled debut album through Heavenly Recordings, is a Korg Delta led five-piece formed in 2010. Their sound is influenced by punk, psychedelia, krautrock and post rock which keeps them mixing and experimenting in their studio. To make it clear, their sound is similar to their great friends from the band The Horrors.

If you are a fan of Portishead, and The xx, I strongly recommend you to meet Von Haze. This Brooklyn based band, formed by Travis Caine and Katherine Kin, recently recorded their new LP ‘KAR DEE AKK AKE’, produced by Death in Vegas’ Richard Fearless. Their work has been described as a sound which goes from moody, hazy and druggy, to driving lo-fi synth rock,

The event will take place on 29th September at Electric Brixton (formerly The Fridge), Brixton Hill, SW2 1RJ. Enjoy!
