Florence strips for new Calvin Harris video

Indie | Friday 21st September 2012 | Osh

As if the thumping success of 'Spectrum (Say My Name)' wasn’t enough, Calvin Harris and Florence Welch have paired up again for another club stomper.

The video for new tune ‘Sweet Nothing’ has been unveiled online and features the ‘Dog Days’ singer performing a burlesque style routine, stripping down from a suit and tie to just her black lingerie.

In the video, Florence appears as a club singer in a gentleman’s strip club, with Calvin watching from the audience. Despite her seedy surroundings, Florence looks happy to be unleashing her voice, and body, on the stage. The images of Welch’s performance are intercut with those of a man she has been seen arguing with having not so good a night on the town, getting beaten up in an alley. As if anyone needed telling, Florence is not to be messed with.

This wildly successful team-up between Harris and Welch has already seen their last joint effort reach number one, surprisingly the first time for Florence + The Machine. On the other hand, DJ and producer Calvin Harris has enjoyed several number one hits thanks to collaborations with Dizzee Rascal, Rihanna and Example, as well as solo efforts.

‘Sweet Nothing’ will be the fifth track taken from Calvin’s upcoming album 18 Months, which has already given us tracks like ‘Bounce’, featuring Kelis, and ‘We’ll Be Coming Back’, the number one hit with Example. Other tracks on his impending third album are thought to feature Tinie Tempah, Ellie Goulding and another collaboration with Dizzee Rascal, who reached number one with Harris in 2008 with ‘Dance Wiv Me’.

If you’ve got the love for Florence and Calvin, check out the video below.
