SPLASHH- The new band we're ready to drown in

Indie | Tuesday 18th September 2012 | Osh

Fancy a new indie London band with a cool 80/90’s Brit grunge feel?  Don’t mind if I do. Well then here are SPLASHH.

Having had their first single released in June of this year 'All I Wanna Do', and then 'Need It', in July these boys are churning out some excellent tunes I’ve taken to describing as, naughty fun in London.   Yesterday the boys released a preview track for their latest single 'Vacation', and got my musical taste buds tingling.

Their music makes you feel like you should be driving round on a summer’s day with your head hanging out the window and music blasting out.  Their warp speed race from nobodies in February to the newest band to watch has been shocking and speaks measures for these guys’ skills. Are they ready for fame or even a first album? Of course they are. “When we get to a bigger level, we’re going to only request cocktail mixers and a recipe book on our rider.” They sound like boys after my own heart. I’d happily sip cocktails to their summertime grunge.

The boys’ big plans don’t stop there, “We want to go to Spain, record the album on the beach and keep the cocktail thing going. It’ll come with a special recipe, too – make yourself this cocktail then listen to the album. You’ll like it after five!”

This band cries out for a small venue in the back of a pub with sticky floors and red stripe for everyone- or perhaps the boys might prefer mojitos. I know it’s only Tuesday but we all need to let our hair down, so grab a baggy T and your dad’s old wayfarers and let’s have a little dance.

Unfortunately the boys won’t be back in London until 10th November at Shepherds Bush Empire. However, if you fancy a bit of travel, check the boys FB page for a full list of live dates.

It may not be how George Michael imagined but for these boys Club Tropicana and grunge are about to go hand in hand and I’ll happily bring the cocktail umbrellas.
