Underage Festival joins the list of festivals to fall victim to the Olympics. The festival due to take place at the end of August has now been cancelled by organisers.
Normally held in Victoria Park, the date of the festival had already been moved back due to the London 2012 Olympics as well as the location changed to Shoreditch Park. Full refunds will be available for those who bought tickets to see bands such as Tribes, Foals and Spector who were due to perform at the festival.
The organisers have apologised publicly, stating: "After the amount of work we have put in over the last six years to make Underage Festival the successful event it is today, it is incredibly sad that we have to make this decision, and [it is] one that has not been made lightly. We would like to thank everyone that has been involved with the festival this year and supported us, from the artists to the production team, and would like to offer our apologies to those that have bought tickets."
So for underage teenagers in London who are disgruntled by the news, best go dust off your fake ID’s and plans your next daring raid of Al Capone-esque beer smuggling.
