Scion Audio Visual is a new music and arts distribution project from the makers of Scion Cars and is yet another forward-thinking way that music and art will reach the people of the world.
This new method is an innovative way of bringing people content that would never have the same reach without this format. We’re all fortunate enough to see this drastic shift in the norms of the entertainment industry that is truly historical.
With brands such as ‘Relentless’, ‘Scion’ and of course ‘RedBull’, it seems that the way the music industry will move forward from here is to utilize the reach of established internationally recognizable brands. Similar to what Coke and Pepsi tried to do with their free single campaigns where consumers gained codes from the lids of bottles that they could use to get free music via iTunes.
The difference now is that instead of working as a partnership or using the brand names to launch contests promoting the labels' artists, the brands are taking the reins and actually establishing labels themselves. The partnership element is still necessary as obviously most of the brands still utilize major music label distribution.
This new format means both parties win. The idea is to hit people from the core. By getting something they like directly linked with a product brand, then that product will also become consumers' favourite or at least you will associate it in a positive way, a very crafty way of marketing for both music and products.
