Teachers in London should receive training to detect misdemeanours in the name of magic in school.
While the Harry Potter series has taken off to new heights it appears some children are getting too lost in the magic. Give away signs include long cloaks, a crooked pointy hat and wands.
While at first this may appear a laughing matter a report from the Department of Education said ‘many cases of child abuse in the name of faith, spirit possession and the supernatural went unreported because of ignorance.’ The report has led to a national action plan being drafted by faith leaders, charities and the Metropolitan Police in order to deal with the issue.
While I’m sure many teachers would state demonic pubescent children causing havoc is nothing new in schools they’ve been told to look out for specific cases of witchcraft being practised. The NSPCC’s chief executive Andrew Flanagan, stated: “The vast majority of people in communities where witchcraft is practised are horrified by these acts and take no part in this atrocious behaviour. We must not be afraid to raise this issue so the offenders can be exposed.”
