The up and coming and hotly tipped four piece have released their debut single.
Released earlier in the month on iTunes, the London based band has today released their debut single ‘Time for Change’. Produced by Adam Looker (Kasier Chiefs, Crystal Fighters), the single looks not only to continue the bands rise to prominence, but to rocket them to new heights in the indie world.
The songs come off the back of several successful EPs and sound-wise remain very much a continuation of these, although clearly more refined. The track begins by overwhelming you with a calming melody that somehow excites and soothes as the pounding synth, bass and thundering drum beat grips you. The vocal talent and prowess of the lead singer Jamie perfectly complements the smooth riffs from Rudi, which highlight an unnatural ability to fit an extra melody in without sounded overcrowded. It’s destined to be a massive pop success; with endless hooks buried deep which mean this tune will have you hook, line and sinker.
‘shallow are the tears, broken out of fears’ the words forge deep in your mind as the tune slows and calms after its irresistible opening , and you’re forced to confront the bands expression of pure emotion through their melody. It is solid throughout and it’s easy to ignore the musical technicality behind a song that carries you away.
The Stowaways are definitely a band to look out for and if their album can live up to its opening single I can’t believe big things will not be in store for them.
