Teddy in the Clink

Reggae singer Tedane Anthony Kerr was arrested by US authorities in New Jersey for being in the country illegally. Mr. Kerr also goes by the name Anthony Butler and sings under the name Teddy Brown was taken into custody at his home in Asbury Park on Tuesday.
The singer's website shows that he released a disc on the Fugitive Entertainment record label and has performed in New York, in Philadelphia and at the Jersey Shore.
Customs officials say Mr. Kerr entered the U.S.in 1977 from Jamaica as a lawful permanent resident but was ordered removed the same year after a conviction for aggravated assault.
An immigration judge will decide whether he will be deported.
