Cirque du Soleil’s TOTEM Tuesday 14th February 2012 | Osh So you’re stuck on what to do with your loved one this Valentines? Tired with the same old restaurants and the usual theater productions that seem to get more and more tired as each year passes. Why not inject some culture into both your lives and treat your self to one of the most dynamic and energetic shows of recent times. A story that we have all played a part in is now brought to life in a visually stunning display that is, Cirque du Soleil’s TOTEM. With Robert Lepage at the Helm, you have a presentiment when entering the Royal Albert Hall that this was going to be some kind of wonderful. Following the evolution of species, TOTEM follows the progression of humanity with a celebration of evolution and all things in between. Renowned Canadian Director and Writer Robert Lepage has been drafted in to bring this story to life with the aid of Cirque de Soleil’s astounding acrobats that perform truly flabbergasting aerial stunts that leave you some what dumfounded. The fable that is Darwin’s theory of evolution is cleverly entwined with totemism, which if you were a child of the 70’s, is a belief that all living things on this earth is mystically connected as one. The show delivers this beautifully. Holding our hand through the evolution of humanity and making us feel that we are very much part of Robert’s stunning takes of TOTEM. The whole show will visually stun you, along with a dynamic and energetic African themed soundtrack, Totem is a must see for all. Even though we found that the funny parts were somewhat flat, the show as a whole will leave you thinking that what you have just witnessed is definitely some kind of magic. With some of the stunts that are performed, it’s difficult to comprehend the trust among the performers, but after a while, you seem to take this for granted as you get whisked away in the energy, magic and liveliness of Totem. We here at the Guestlist Network recommend you catch this before its too late, so hurry, and do yourself a favor and “evolve” yourself for a better valentine’s day. Totem runs until the 16th of February 2012 at The Royal Albert Hall, for more information & tickets please visit www.cirquedusoleil.com
