Indie Album of the Month: Emeli Sande - "Our Version of Events"

The summer of 2011 was huge for Emeli Sande. Her first single, “Heaven” was a radio hit, “Read All About It” which she produced with Professor green went number one, and recently, her second single “Daddy” has been getting major airtime.
Following a massive build up, we are happy to report that her eagerly awaited album does not disappoint. With slick production, poignant lyrics, ready to go anthems and a beautiful voice, Sande has delivered a debut that lives up to the hype, and then some.
Taking inspiration from trip-hop, pop, indie, R&B and hip-hop, “Our Version Of Events” sounds amazing and Sande’s skill as a lyricist is especially highlighted on tracks “Where I Sleep, Daddy” and “Mountains”.
This is not just an album of the artist du jour, it is a debut that marks the beginnings of a long and successful career for Sande.
