Ciara Makes a Comeback

After some time away from the music scene due to filming and giving birth, Ciara performed at the Forum Hertfordshire last week to promote her upcoming album.
The album, which is yet to be named, is her sixth studio album. So far, she has premiered only one of the songs “Anytime” in January earlier this year. The former face of Jay-Z’s Rocawear label said this time last year that “she would be releasing music really soon” . However this was put on hold as she fell pregnant with her son whom she gave birth to this May.
Nevertheless, six months later it seems she is back on track and ready to pursue her album ,performing for the students of Hertfordshire this month. It was interesting to see that she did not actually perform anything from her upcoming album, “Not that I didn’t enjoy seeing her old music", as one fan commented, "But I wish she gave us a sneak peak of what is to come”.
Once the performance was announced with flyers in and around Hatfield and the University of Hertfordshire, many people reacted on social media due to the hip-hop sensation’s lack of music for a year or so.
Some didn’t actually believe she would come, “She hasn’t made any music for years, what will she perform? I haven’t heard anything from her new album” stated one student.
Regardless, she blew the crowd away with singing acapella, rapped and even beat-boxed a medley of her best hits from “Oh” to “Like a boy” to “Body Party” to name a few.
One 21-year-old student who attended said, “It was such a blast from the past. Everyone in the venue knew every single word because she has so many old school tunes behind her that my generation grew up listening to through school.”
Another pleased fan added, “The fact that she sang her bits, rapped the rappers bits and beat-boxed bits of the music during her acapella just proves what a talent she is and made me wonder why we have had to wait so long for album to come out”.
The Texan born star began to focus on acting from 2012 where she starred in the straight to DVD film “Mama, I want to Sing!”, a comedy “That’s my boy” and then season 6 of American comedy series “The Game” a year later.
She also released her fifth studio album “Ciara” in the same year, which featured names as big as Nicki Minaj and reached the top 3 of the Billboard Chart.
The Forum Hertfordshire themselves tweeted “What a voice! #Amazing”.
The album date has not yet been released but it is expected to be before the end of this year or early next year so stay tuned for this information.
