Last night saw the launch night of House of Vans newest exhibition, Modest Mouse: an Intimate Collection of Photographs by Pat Graham. Pat Graham is a London based photographer who has travelled all over the world for the last 20 years, photographing musicians on tour as well as building up an impressive portfolio of commercial brand photography.
This exhibition focuses on Graham’s time with Modest Mouse, the indie rock band formed in 1993. The band pride themselves on staying true to their original fans, whilst continuing to grow in popularity. This is a theme which is emulated in the exhibition, giving the viewer an insight into the modest lifestyle of the band.
As well as photographs, the exhibition features equipment used by Graham, from his early career to his current kit. The array of cameras, press passes and documentary style photography in the gritty waterloo tunnel setting creates an intimacy between the photographer and the audience.
This is a free exhibition and is well worth checking out.
