Last Friday night Michael Dodman, better known as Huxley, bombarded UK radio waves with his debut Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1. The former UK garage producer turned house giant treated listeners with a perfectly executed mix, packed with exclusives from the likes of Eats Everything, Ejeca and of course himself. The mix comes weeks after the release of his debut album ‘Blurred’ on Aus Music.
Huxley has firmly cemented himself into the UK house music scene with own distinctive flavour of house and garage. His dedication to his sound has paid off in recent times, and he has seen himself released on many of the top house labels such as Defected, Hypercolour and 2020Vision. As a DJ, Huxley is very sought after, playing gigs across Europe on a weekly basis.
He takes an opened minded approach to mixing, mashing up all things underground which he shows time and time again on various platforms like Rinse FM and Face Magazine. The Essential Mix is no different, and is a testament to his domination of bass driven house and garage, with an impressive track listing guaranteed to please the critics, ravers and peers alike. It’ll take you all the way from energetic house to murky techno covering all bases in between.
The mix is available on the BBC iPlayer for the 30 days, you can check that here.
Keep up with all things Huxley on his Facebook and Twitter.
